North Carolina has about 27,000 DACA recipients who will lose their ability to work, study and continue to help their families comes next March 5th, 2018 when the program expires. If we do not get Congress to pass legislation to protect dreamers, then they’ll be subject to deportation to a country they don’t know. According to the Center for American Progress, it is estimated that the state of North Carolina will lose about 1.1 billion dollars in GDP loss if we lose all of our DACA workers.

NCDC’s mission is to get the 2017 Dream Act or similar legislation passed.

In order to get these efforts accomplished, we will need resources from the community to fund lobby visits in Washington, DC, and materials such as t-shirts, banners, and pamphlets for statewide training of our youth.

Help us make the American Dream a reality for our North Carolina undocumented youth.
